Title: Body image disturbances and psychological well-being in women facing reproductive cancer challenges

Abstract

A cancer diagnosis and treatments, particularly for reproductive cancers, deeply impact a woman's body image and well-being. Therefore, this study explores the intricate relationship between psychological states and body image perception in women undergoing treatment for reproductive cancer. Employing a correlational design, the study includes 109 women undergoing treatment in government hospitals in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Data collection utilizes two well-established instruments: the 4DSQ and the Body Image Scale. The results indicate a significant positive correlation between psychological states (somatization, depression, anxiety, and distress) and the body image of women with reproductive cancer. The regression analysis further sheds light on specific connections between psychological states and body image. In conclusion, this study contributes valuable insights into the dynamic relationship between psychological states and body image in women with reproductive cancer.
