Social Media: Trick Or Treat
Abstract
Dealing with social media is now part of our routine daily activities. During that time, exposure to social media can trigger some neuropsychological changes. Part of these changes requires attention due to potential health issues. Habitual use of social media can alter and impact the quality of time spent in calm leisure activities. In my talk, I will highlight some potential health hazards as well as raise awareness on the judicious use of modern technology and social media.
Biography
Sherine Abdelmissih is now an assistant professor at department of Medical Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, Kasr al-Ainy, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt. She completed her MD at the age of 39 years at Cairo University, Egypt. She is the postgraduate quality control coordinator at the medical pharmacology department of Cairo University, Egypt. She is the coordinator of the medical French program at the medical pharmacology department of Cairo University, Egypt. She is a member of the British Pharmacological Society and european college of Neuropsychopharmacology. She has reviewed 40 publications and has published 5 research articles, 2 review articles, and 2 book chapters. She is an international trainer at Cambridge University and Montessori University. She is a national trainer of trainees at supreme council of Egyptian Universities. She has received her international certificate as a trainer of occupational hygiene.
